Battery Wall Clock

A battery or "quartz" clock uses an electronic oscillator that is regulated by a quartz crystal to keep time. This crystal oscillator creates a signal with very precise frequency, so that quartz clocks are quite accurate time keepers. Batteries need only be replaced roughly once a year on average and many models even include electronic chimes. The trade-offs are the loss of the traditional movement and authentic chimes.
